There must be no accounts of what happened to the dog and the like. Then it becomes a narration.
Narrative essay is an account of a sequence of even that occurred during a period of time. Novels, short stories etc are examples of this type of writing as they are all about what happened to a person or persons at a point of time. This is a series of actions perfumed by a character. The narration can also be the emotions of the writer. It is mostly written in first person; however, second and third person are also used.
Expository essay is one in which there are a lot of instructions for a readers to carry out a particular task. The best example would be a recipe. Persuasive essay is one that influences a thought or an action in the minds of the readers. Persuasion is not so easy and calls for mentioning a lot of reasons and explanations. These types of essays are the most common.
